I. Reservation policy and Room assignments

To make your reservation you must send a down payment of $450 USD (non refundable) with your admission application. This amount will be applied in full to the total cost of your room, therefore, when you arrive in Monterrey you will only have to pay the remaining balance.

By sending your reservation fee you’ll be accepting the accepting the following policies:

II. Final Payment

The final Residence payment is made during the payment process, which takes place during Orientation Week.  (To cover the total cost by several payments through the semester is not authorized only if this is confirmed with the International Program Office Staff. If this is the case then an extra tax rate will be added to the total cost of the Residence Hall).

Important: Tuition, residences, family program, and health care insurance payments must be made with personal checks from a U.S. bank payable in dollars, traveller’s checks, international money orders or cash. Credit cards are not recommended to make these payments. International Postal Money Orders are not accepted.

III. Duration of stay

You're allowed to stay in your dorm from the first official arrival day until the Saturday after the end of the final exams.

IV. Additional Days

If you intend to arrive before the official arrival day or leave after the checkout date, you must let us know in time so that the arrangements can be made. In this case, you must pay the additional days directly to the Residence Office.

V. What you should bring

Residences only provide bed linen for International Programs students in the summer sessions. If you are coming for a full semester term you must bring your own sheets, bedspreads, pillows, and towels. We also recommended a lock for your closet to keep your things secure.

VI. Services and facilities

a.. Health care. In case of illness or accident, we have 24-hour medical service and, if necessary, a doctor will make calls at the student's room.

b.. Laundry: In the women's buildings there are washing machines you can operate with tokens.

c.. Phone: During semester terms, the Residences give students a confidential code number called FAQ to make local and long distance calls from the building phones. The calls will be charged to you on a monthly basis. As this service is not available in summer, you'll have to use public phones.

IX. Regulations

Since Residences are a part of Tec de Monterrey, they operate under the same regulations. Additionally, residences have their own regulations; you should particularly keep in mind three important rules:

a.. No alcohol or drugs are allowed in the premises.

b.. Buildings are not co-ed, therefore male students cannot visit female residences and vice versa.

c.. Female Residences have a policy that requires girls to get a permit if they plan to arrive after 10 P.M. Students who do not comply will be reported.

There are also sporadic inspections on weekends to check alcohol level in students. This is part of Tec's campaign to fight substance abuse.
